Patients should always attend their nearest hospital Emergency Department for serious injuries to the mouth, gums, teeth, oral cavity and jaw. Regular checkups can help prevent the need for emergency treatment at short notice.
If in doubt, dial 111 and speak to the NHS 111 service who can advise whether you should attend a dentist or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency/Emergency Department.
